Compare and contrast the perspectives of Critical Race Theory/Systemic Racism/decolonialism (you can treat these three theories as one paradigm or approach) and Structural Functionalism on the Black Lives Matter Movement (BLM). Begin by describing the BLM movement, you are welcome to bring in reputable outside references to describe BLM. Next, define the two theoretical approaches that you will be comparing. Then apply each of these perspectives to BLM. How would each of these theoretical perspectives explain the BLM movement? What are the underlying causes and explanations of why this movement is happening now? How are do these two approaches differ in their explanations? Conclude by explaining which approach you find most convincing. Make sure you back up ALL of your arguments, explanations, and discussions with appropriate evidence and citations from the readings.
