Choose one impairment, injury, or disorder from the attached List of Disabilities and Disorders to research further.

Write a 525- to 700-word paper providing academic, behavioral, social, and communicative considerations related to understanding and teaching a student with this disability. 

Address how you can encourage the family of a student with this disability to attend individualized education program (IEP) meetings, and how families can be supported throughout the learning process of educating a student with this disability at home with activities and support systems or advocacy groups. Make sure to consider transition needs.

Part 2: Culturally Diverse Lesson Plans

Create three days’ worth of culturally diverse lesson plans to address the academic, behavioral, social, and communicative needs of a student with the impairment, injury, or disorder you chose in Part 1. Include the use of paraprofessionals, therapists, technology, and multiple modalities such as art, music, and physical movement.
