1. Briefly discuss the meaning of the so-called social contract. In doing so, speak about political philosophers such as John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Also, speak to federalism and the three levels of policing in the United States.
2. Briefly provide an overview of Sir Robert Peel’s contributions to policing.
3. Discuss how does the Bureaucratic Model applies when comparing and contrasting the training method ideologies associated with how the Federal Bureau of Investigations trains agents versus the quasi-militarism (also called para-militarism) characteristic methodology typically used in the typical police academy.
4. Discuss McGregor’s Theory X and Theory Y; Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory and the Hawthorne Studies.
