Abstract
A proposal forms the basis of a research project. It is a blueprint for an intended study will flow smoothly and achieve a researchable response that can be applied and tested. However, there are many contrasting elements that the author must consider to complete a good proposal. For a quantitative approach, the author should ensure that the research design and method connect to the research purpose. The author should be able to derive observable data from answering the research questions while following the ethical principles. The proposed research problem accentuates the management dilemma. It looks at numerical relationships between the employees and leaders to derive data-oriented solutions to boost the organizations quality of work-life.
Proposal Review
Work-life quality reflects the fulfillment of an employee’s professional needs and views of the work environment. Despite the transformative and interruptive nature of this phenomenon, there is minimal research showing the intrinsic relationship between the organization elements and the impact on the quality of life. However, previous studies have shown a direct and significant relationship between the quality of work-life and leadership. Still, few studies have sought to examine the quantitative nature of the relationship.
The author envisioned a quantitative correlational approach for the study to paint the linear or non-linear relationship between the organizational commitment and the employees’ preferred leadership style. The author proved the capacity and capability to achieve these objectives of the study by the application of various statistical and computational models. The author anchored the research design on the impetus nature and effort of the independent variables in work to ascertain the commitment level. The outright representation of various models of measurement shows the author’s precise and concise attempt to merge the independent and dependent variables to develop concrete results. The intricate linkage between these processes will create an entirely firm foundation for the study’s accomplishment. The author aims to show the tremendous impact of the quality of work-life on the work per unit of production, morale, performance, which are intricately linked to the satisfaction of employees’ professional needs. Although there is a conjecture based on the limited studies of the quantitative nature of the concept of quality work-life, the author envisioned the relationship it may hold to other organizational elements. According to the formulated research purpose, the author hoped to investigate the factors affecting all the regulatory aspects of the independent variable to create a healthy work-life balance.
The quantitative approach will help the author use statistical functions to represent the research subject and their role interchangeably (independent and dependent variable) to solve the management dilemma. The author incorporates the mathematical features to bring out the study’s quantitative nature. From the transcript, it is evident that the author justifies the need for complex quantitative research to conduce the two-fold research paradigm during the author’s pursuit to solve the management problem. To frame the ambiguity and complexity of the research question, build on the existing thematic studies by analyzing the quantitative nature of employees’ quality of work across the United States. With the quantitative approach, the author will analyze the workers’ level of satisfaction, job success to unveil the association between the preferred leadership styles and organizational commitment in regards to the quality of work-life (Tara & Albert, 2015).
Given the author’s background in computer science, the research design and method is considered appropriate. The author will automate the online survey service to capture real-time data through the integration of computer algorithms and computational analysis. Consequently, the author will be able to conduct preliminary investigations while waiting for the responses to accumulate. The online survey service will serve as a mechanism through which the researcher will gain insights and access to the target population (Sage Pub, 2006). The use of an online survey is an entirely indispensable tool for this research project. The author endeavors to research the topmost influential employees across all organizations in the United States. However, the research will explore other influential junior positions in the organization. The random sampling will triangulate a rich domain of influential people who act as connectors at various capacities in the organization. Community Senior net, an internet-based platform, will be an indispensable site for this project. Also, the author anticipates collecting data via email through the listserv service to supplement the preliminary data.
Given the sensitive nature of the study, the author endeavors to maintain the anonymity of the subjects. The author plans to undertake all research projects by disclosing the identity of the respondents. He/she emphasizes the need to protect the integrity of acquiring knowledge and data for the study—the author endeavors to abide by the ethical procedures and requirements to protect the respondents’ identity. Invitations to participate in the survey will only apply to subjects online. Also, the researcher will ensure the highest degree of commitment by installing data protection softwares to avoid psychological harm to the research subjects. The envisioned research will be conducted using an online survey site, wherein participants can log in anonymously. Because the survey seeks a random sampling of employees, the identity of participants need never be known to the researcher. No record of the identity of those who participate will be kept, except participants will agree in an informed consent document before proceeding to answer survey questions.
A critical analysis of the research process projects the need to align the research elements in with the management problem to derive concrete results. With little existing research published online on the quality of work-life, there is a need to broaden the study to cover all the parameters that affect the quality of work-life in an Organization. Failure or lack thereof of maintaining a positive outlook of employs can cause irreparable damage to the management of an organization. As a result, this research process accentuates the research purpose of achieving consistency, applicability, and neutrality in the research design and ethical considerations.
Firstly the relationship-based research questions allow for direct analysis through various statistical tests and models (University of South California, 2020). As a result, the researcher will collect succinct data that sets the scene of the study based on concise and precise data, making it easy for the author to replicate both the test and the results. Therefore the research can develop findings that do will be valuable to the leaders and employees. Also, the research design is considered appropriate. In particular, the online survey service, although a new and evolving study design, is an essential tool in conducting primary research and virtual communication. The practicality and viability of the online survey are proven and referenced as cost-effective, time conscious, and ability to gather vast amounts of information. Therefore this compels the researcher to delve deep into and get to the root of the problem. Given the changing dynamics in the world of business following the influx of globalization and knowledge-based economies, the online service will be an optimal tool for a significant percentage of the leaders and managers who conduct communicative activity online. This research design will be able to access the target population and get firsthand information about the essential ways to solve this current management dilemma. Finally, the research design is a necessary tool as it is proven to be valid and guarantees that the respondents” lives will not be jeopardized.
Management is a crucial function in an organization. Every leader understands the importance of creating a conducive environment that allows professional growth and satisfaction. Failure to meet the professional needs of a worker cultivates an ethical crisis. Consequently, to achieve this study’s objective, the author should not disclose the employees’ identities to avoid backlash from management and other facets of the organization. In this study, the researcher intends to ensure that the ethical principle is taken to consideration during the entire research process by creating the online survey that, at no point, will ever display the identity of the respondent. No record of the identity of those who participate will be kept, except participants will agree in an informed consent document before proceeding to answer survey questions. Informed consent gives participants documentation describing the study and the data sought. The author puts more emphasis on research contributing to more knowledge protecting Th rights of the participant by obtaining their consent to take part in the study. Individuals who agree to participate will electronically confirm their voluntary participation. The author should protect the identity of participants and the organizations; the individual will not be asked about their specific employer, occupation, or industry. Such inquiries will not be part of the envisioned study; therefore, site permission from organizations is not necessary.
Research of the relationship for these dynamic elements will be valuable to leaders in different fields. The goal of this research is to present accurate and concrete findings that can be applied, tested, and checked by anyone. A researchable response will boost the relationship between the employee and the leader based on organizational commitment, leadership preferences, and other regulatory elements. Not only will proper execution of the proposed research problem boost the leadership role but help with technical advancements by aiding organizations in-stock selection and other computational-based business decisions.
